Inspirations, chop chop!

Hi people! So I finally have some mood to write some post. However this post maybe --or maybe not-- useful for you. Anyway, since I've been on some artistic works lately, I would like to share how I manage to get some inspirations. So here it is, what I usually do when I need to get some inspirations:

#1 MUSIC
The easiest way for me to unleash imaginations in my brain is listening to the music. Not only listening though, it’s more like err... grasp the whole feeling? I mean I’m trying to set my ears wide open so I can hear every single layer that lies on the music. I’m paying attention to its melody and listen clearly to how the drums, piano, guitar, and bass play together in order to give the best harmony. I usually find myself smiling whenever I hear some nice arrangement and to be honest I’m pretty pleased with songs that give a lot of piano, string, saxophone, and flute sounds. Last but not least, try to understand more through its lyrics. I love to know the story behind those magical arrangements and by understanding the lyrics will make me more drown to the songs.

My most favorite band from Indonesia for the arrangements and lyrics is SORE. They are genius! I mean, until now I haven’t been really into any Indonesia’s band except SORE. It’s been a long time since their last album, but a few days ago I found out that they are preparing their next album. Woohoo, can’t wait! If you willing to hear some of their works, you have google machine. Use it, wisely or not.

And the most jaw dropping arrangement for me is Killer Tune by Tokyo Jihen (you can download the mp3 here). It’s not only the arrangement that makes me amazed but also their instrument skills! Seeing them playing their instrument seems... UNREAL. How could people play something so complicated yet it looks so... effortless. Damn it, Tokyo Jihen, I’m out of words. Enough said.

#2 MUSIC VIDEO
(I suppose to put a picture here, but yeah I don't have anything to put)

The next thing is something related to #1: watch music videos. #1 is something that will please your ears while this point will please your eyes. It’s not like I love seeing the lead role in some music video --well it counts too somehow--, it’s because there are other things that I could explore from music video. Like the whole story line, the clothes they wear, props they use, the overall color they choose, and on and on. The idea of making a music video is somehow to entertain and to attract people to listen to the songs. I’m pretty sure you all know about the “Gangnam Style” phenomenon. I try to listen to the songs without watching the video, and it’s totally... MEH. Despite I don’t understand the words his speaking, I’m not really into that style of music. But when I watch the video, OH MY GOD THAT’S SO WEIRD AND FASCINATING IN THE SAME TIME! I mean who would have an idea to make horse riding as a dance routine? That’s totally creative and eye-catchy. So you know, because of watching the video more than once, somehow the song keeps repeating on my head. See, that’s the power of music video.

So, if I had to choose one music video that really fascinates me --clearly it’s not Gangnam Style because the song didn’t work for me-- it will be Pieces by L`Arc~en~Ciel (I'm sorry for being soooo biased, Japanese music is what I fancy). The whole story line is just.... breathtaking. I mean, the song itself is already majestic, and the music video just makes it more perfect. Here's the video:

My second recommendation is Kono Yo no Kagiri by Shiina Ringo. In the music video, instead of using real instruments as props, they used leeks as a trumpet, a netbook as a piano, baguette breads and rulers as strings, and a counting machine as a triangle. It’s a fun music video. Well it’s not the most fascinating music video, but I had a hard time choosing one, so yeah I guess this still do. Anyway, here's the video:

#3 HANGING OUT
While #1 and #2 are something you can do at home and in front of your computer, the next thing will be something that related with nature. Yeah, it’s hanging out! Either hanging out by myself or with friends. Hanging out in my neighborhood is pretty fun, especially when I have almost-2-years-old nephew that love to giggle almost all the time (thank God he's not crying) and had so much fun just to walk around the neighborhood.

Anyway, my most favorite place for hanging out in my lovely city is KEBUN RAYA or in English, Botanical Garden. That’s pretty make sense, since almost all of my photos were taken there. I go there not only to take some photos, but also to enjoy the scenery. But you know, some of my friends find it weird that I usually go to Botanical Garden by myself.. They were like: “What are you doing there?” and sometime to avoid the unending questions of me going to Kebun Raya by myself, I answered: “Taking pictures, what else?”. Anyway, that’s what I like to do though. For me, enjoying the nature is one way to get some inspirations.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And before I realized it, I blabbered too much only for these 3 simple things. I will continue the list another time (and yes, it’s NOT a promise). I think it will be nice too if you could share things you do when you need inspirations.. Looking forward to it! See you on another post!

In Repair

"We're always either on the way down or the way up, and you never really enjoy the moment when it's all put together because it probably never really is. Those moments where things come apart is only setting you up for that moment where you put it back together again and you're so surprise that it's coming back together again. There's this beauty in the idea of being in repair."
--John Mayer

--------------------------------------------------

He's such a genius. I mean how could he do that? Written and recorded a song once he got in the studio? I know how it feels when inspirations keeps coming on your mind, but, this song, it's emotional yet inspiring. John Mayer, please, never give up on music....

Pergi

Musim hujan berganti musim panas....
Kau tetap tak ada disini
Pergi dan tak kunjung kembali.....

Laut hempaskanku padanya
Bintang tunjukkan arah
Oooh angin bisikkanlah mana dia

Hati cemas bimbang
Harapan timbul tenggelam
Aduhai, permata hati
Mungkinkah kelak berjumpa lagi?
Mungkinkah kelak bersua lagi?

Why 8 songs? Well, I think “10 Best Songs for Friends” sounds too common. I’d rather use something unusual, like 7 or 8. And I didn’t rank this list. I can’t decide which songs that should be in the first place. These 8 songs rocks and I let you decide which songs that should be in the first place :D

And, this list is dedicated to all of my best friends in the world. I am blessed for having y’all in my life.

Do you have another song for best friends? Tell me, I'd love to know :)

What Makes You Happy?

Ok. So Silmi just tag me on her post. She tagged me to write things that make me happy. To be honest, there are so many things that would make me happy! It could be a-100-list maybe :p. But, since Silmi only mention ten things, then either do I. So, let’s start!

  1. Smiles. I feel happy knowing that somebody is smilling just because I was there, listening to what they are try to share, spending times with them, or help them when they have a problem. And especially, my parents. I wanna make them proud having a daughter like me.
  2. Hanging out with friends or family. I really like spending my time with friends or family. It could be eye shopping, watching movies, reading some books in cafe library, or sharing our love stories in my room :p
  3. Travelling. I love seeing new things. I love to visit some places that I barely know. I wanna know their cultures, history, and also culinary.
  4. Photography. I’m not a pro, i tell you. I just love seeing beautiful things and capturing it with my camera. And I think I will keep learning about photography, wish me luck!
  5. Online. I get so boooooored when there’s no internet connection in my room. I love googling, youtube-ing, downloading, and when there’s no internet connection I feel like isolated. I don’t like watching TV, so if I want to catch up with news, I have to get online and read it there.
  6. Beach. I will feel tremendously happy if someone asked me to go to the beach. I love every elements that lies in the beach. Water, sands, wind, and the sound of the wave. It’s just make me feel really comfort.
  7. Reading books. The specific reason why I like reading books is that I am able to turn every words that written into my own imaginations.
  8. Good weather. Staring at the clear blue sky and bright sun will set me happy. I like rain, but without any thunders and lightnings :D
  9. History. While I was on my junior high school, I feel so bored with history lessons. I don’t know why, but history class always made me sleepy. But now, since I’m studying about international relations, I must know all world’s history and I’m getting interested in it! I really wanna know how does it feel living like a thousand years ago and being the part of the history.
  10. Listening to the music. Oh, who doesn’t. I think I don’t have any specific reason why I feel happy when I’m listening to the music. It’s kind of routine, everytime I get my laptop on, so does the music. :D

There! I’ve finished my list. And I will pass this tag to: (drumroll please..)
Fida, Aini, Angga, Nafirah, Wina, and Devi.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ah, I think I know what will make y'all happy. It is Fly by Monkey Majik. I guaranteed this song will make you happy! Cheerio!

L-O-V-E

All the pictures above are taken and edited by me :)

Love? I bet that word is really familiar to you. Consists only 4 letters, but really difficult to define. One man said that love is all around us. And i clearly agree with that quote, everything we do will always come along with love itself.

I do photography, because I love capturing beautiful moments. I'm travelling because I love exploring new things (like culinary, culture, arts, etc). I like writing, because I love telling everything that happened to me. Well, in this case, I'm talking about hobbies.

How about God, my parents, family, friends, and boyfriend? I love them, more anything than this world. I love them so much until I couldn't explain the reason why I love them that way. They're too precious. And I think words or sentences won't enough to describe such a feeling.

So what about you, what do you love? Tell me about it.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Anyway, I'm listening to Another Rainy Day by Corinne Bailey Rae. Yes, rainy mood makes me love this song!

Nostalgic

I've been listening to The Moffats' songs like a zillion times. I was their big fans when elementary school and i thought that Clint is very cute. My favorit song is "Until You Loved Me" the Original Soundtrack of Never Been Kissed movie. What's ur favorite song anyway?

In Repair

"Reach" - Taken by Annisa Utami Seminar

"Too many shadows in my room
Too many hours in this midnight
Too many corners in my mind
So much to do to set my heart right
Oh it's taking so long i could be wrong, i could be ready
Oh but if i take my heart's advice
I should assume it's still unsteady
I am in repair, i am in repair"

In Repair - John Mayer

Semangat!

You Are The Universe by The Brand New Heavies

You're the future, and you've come for what is yours
The hidden treasure, locked behind the hidden doors
And the promise of a day that's shiny new
Only a dreamer, could afford this point of view
But you're a driver, not a passenger in life
And if you're ready, you won't have to try 'cause

You are the Universe
And there ain't nothin' you can't do
If you conceive it, you can achieve it
That's why, I believe in you, yes I do

You're a winner, so do what you came here for
The secret weapon, isn't secret anymore
You're a driver, never passenger in life
And when you're ready, you won't have to try 'cause

You are the Universe
And there ain't nothin' you can't do
If you conceive it, you can achieve it
That's why, I believe in you, yes I do

P.S.:Videonya jadul banget yaaah?!

Tokyo Jihen New Album : Variety

Album : Variety
Date Release : 26 September 2007
1. Lamp
2. Mirror Ball
3. Kingyo no Hako
4. Shiseikatsu
5. OSCA
6. Kuronekodo
7. Fukushu
8. Botomin
9. SSAW
10. Tsukigimehime
11. Sake to Geko
12. Killer Tune
13. Metro

L`Arc~en~Ciel New Album: Kiss

Yak! Laruku baru saja mengeluarkan album! (padahal mah udah dari kapaaan gitu yaa..). Intinya sih gw mau ngasih review aja tentang album terbarunya Laruku.

New release album : Kiss
Date release : 21 November 2007
Tracklist :
SEVENTH HEAVEN
Pretty girl
MY HEART DRAWS A DREAM
Sunadokei (砂時計; Hourglass)
spiral
ALONE EN LA VIDA
DAYBREAK'S BELL
Umibe (海辺; Beach)
THE BLACK ROSE
Link -KISS Mix-
Yuki no Ashiato (雪の足跡; Footprints in Snow)
Hurry Xmas.

dadaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahh!!
